Gate Opener Swing

How can I attach a Gate to my deck?

I need to attach a gate to my deck to keep the kids from falling down the steps. My dilemma is that I can only attach it to the post at the top of the stairs. The other side is the siding/window of the house and I don’t really want to/can’t attach it to that side. Does anyone know of a gate that I can screw into the post and have it swing open? I have looked on the internet, but can’t find what I am looking for.

just secure the gate to the 1 post with good heavy hinges…. the look in the hardware store for the type of latch that is just a bent long piece of metal that that mounts to the gate then when u position the gate where you want it closed …drill small hole thru the deck drop rod and lock
