If anyone with a broad knowledge in the topic.. How does an automatic Gate open/close ( the mechanism) without motor or main supply installation.. It is required to open/close via remote control yes… But how does the mechanism work.. What drives the spring/damper on the gate.. Any references would be much appreciated
It can not unless there is some sort of drive. Edison had once connected his wicket gate to a pump. It is said that each time some one opened the gate a gallon of water used to be pumped to his water tank.
One can rig up a spring motor mechanism which is wound up when someone closes the gate after it opens. This will still require an electric trigger to start if remote action is needed.
One can think of a car pressing on a buried mechanical lever to actuate the gate opening action. This does not need an electrical remote. However it will act as soon as the lever is presed down by whatever means.
